Manage Subscriptions
To manage subscriptions on a Microsoft account, go to Manage > Microsoft CSP, select the account and then you will be taken to the overview of that Microsoft account’s current subscriptions.
Here you may:
- Add New Microsoft CSP Trial Subscriptions
- Add New License-based Subscriptions
- Add New Addon Subscriptions
- Edit Subscriptions
- Add New Azure Plan + Subscription
- Edit Azure Subscriptions
- Add an Azure Plan Spending Notification
- How to upgrade a subscription
Add New Microsoft CSP Trial Subscriptions
Go to Products > Trial services, choose the offering in the Product Catalogue that you wish to purchase by clicking Icon. Finish the purchase by choosing the Microsoft account that 14 crayon.com you wish to add the subscription to by searching through the list of accounts. Make sure again that the Product is the correct one and proceed with steps to checkout to finalize trial subscription adding. change the Friendly Name if you wish and then click Save. The subscription and licenses should now be available on the Microsoft account.
IMPORTANT: As per info on final step before completing purchase – Please Verify that the Auto-renewal settings for this Trial subscription is configured correctly after it is active to avoid unintended costs to be generated.
Add New License-based Subscriptions
Go to Products > License-based services > Show all, choose the offering in the Product Catalogue that you wish to purchase by adding it to the basket. Finish the purchase by ‘Go to checkout’ and choosing the Microsoft account that you wish to add the subscription to by searching through the list of accounts. Make sure again that the Product is the correct one.
Assign an Invoice Profile to the subscription if you would like to receive a separate invoice from what is selected on the Cloud Account. Change the Quantity to the number of licenses that you need and then click Complete purchase. The subscription and licenses will first be in the state “pending” but should soon be available on the Microsoft account.
You are also able to use the ‘schedule order date’ to choose a future date when the purchase should be done.
Add New Addon Subscriptions
In New Commerce addons are added the same way as ‘normal’ license-based subscriptions. Just make sure you have the base product as subscription.
Edit Subscriptions
To Edit a subscription on a Microsoft account go to Manage > Microsoft CSP, select Cloud account. You will be taken to the overview of that Microsoft account’s current subscriptions. For the subscription you want to Edit,click on and Edit. You may:
- Change the Friendly Name
- Change the state of a subscription
- Assign an Invoice Profile
- Change the amount of licenses
- Apply a Reseller Markup
- Choose to not “Auto-renew” the subscription
- Manage upcoming renewal
- Have a cap for the end-customer portal
The state of a subscription can be Active or Cancelled, the different states are explained below:
- Active: The subscription is “live” and running in terms of usage and billing.
- Cancelled: When a subscription status is changed to “Cancelled” the “auto-renew” will be turned off, it will be active until the renewal date.
Note! At the end of 60 days after a subscription is Cancelled, the subscription is moved to a “de-provisioned” state. At this time, all data is removed.
Add New Azure Plan + Subscription
Go to Manage > Microsoft CSP, select Cloud account tenant, then click on the Azure plan tab on the tenant. Click +Add and then follow the steps.
Read through the information and complete the prerequisites. You will then be asked to choose a Friendly Name for the subscription and to insert AdminAgent ID for an end customer and then click on Order. The AdminAgent ID should not be changed if it has already been added.
The order will be in “pending” for a while but should be visible in the Azure portal after ~15 minutes if signed in with the correct user. The first Azure subscription will be automatically created the first time an Azure Plan is created for a tenant.
Edit Azure Subscriptions
To Edit an Azure subscription on a Microsoft account go to Manage > Microsoft CSP, then click on the account and then Azure plan. For the subscription you want to Edit, click Edit.
You may:
- Change the Friendly Name
- Change the state of a subscription
- Assign an Invoice Profile
- Apply a Reseller Markup
The state of a subscription can be Active or Inactive, the different states are explained below:
- Active: The subscription is “live” and running in terms of usage and billing.
- Inactive: The subscription is set to a “standby” mode and billing will be stopped for that subscription. Services such as VM’s will be stopped, and storage accounts will be in read only mode.
Add an Azure Plan Spending Notification
Spending notifications for Azure plan can be enabled/changed in Cloud Account > Notifications.
It can be set on three different levels:
- Global
- Tenant(CSP)
- Subscription(CSP)
The following attributes can be customized pr. level:
- Monthly notification threshold value
- Notification contact(s)
- Notification threshold %
How to Upgrade subscription
This Section explains how to upgrade an existing subscription to a different SKU. During the upgrade process, you can choose to either align the new subscription with your existing subscription term (co-term) or start it as a new subscription.
Prerequisites
Before upgrading a subscription, ensure that:
- You have the necessary permissions to manage subscriptions.
- The subscription you want to upgrade is active.
- The target SKU is available for upgrade.
Steps to Upgrade a Subscription
Step 1: Open the Subscription Menu
- Navigate to the Subscriptions page.
- Locate the subscription you want to upgrade.
- Click the three-dot (⋮) menu next to the subscription.
- Select Upgrade from the available options.
Note: The Upgrade option is only available for eligible subscriptions.
Step 2: Select the Target SKU
- In the Upgrade Subscription window, review the available upgrade options.
- Select the SKU you want to upgrade to.
Step 3: Choose the Subscription Term
After selecting the SKU, choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Co-term to Existing Subscription
- Select Co-term to Existing if you want the upgraded subscription to share the same renewal date as your current subscription.
- This option helps consolidate renewals and simplifies subscription management.
Option 2: New Subscription

Select New Subscription if you want the upgraded SKU to begin as a separate subscription with its own billing and renewal cycle.
Tip: Choose the option that best aligns with your organization's billing and subscription management requirements.
Step 4: Confirm the Upgrade
- Review the selected SKU and subscription term option.
- Click Upgrade to complete the process.
The system will process your request and update the subscription accordingly.
