PRISM New Billing Experience with Billable Ratios
Under the PRISM New Billing Experience, you may notice that charges under the Billing Statement show a billable ratio (Column AK); however, the values do not equate to 1. Example below
Whilst this data appears incorrect, it is accurate when citing the original dates supplied by Microsoft.
Microsoft charges Crayon based on a usage period from the 15th of Month A to the 14th of Month B (Example: 15th of June to 14th of July 2023). The number of days in this usage period makes up the basis for the billable ratio figure.
15/06/2023 to 14/07/2023 = 30 days
15/07/2023 to 14/08/2023 = 31 days
When a charge occurs within this usage period, the billable ratio is created using this logic.
For the example shown above, we have a new order that was created on 26/6/23 and is charged for 26 days in July (1/7/23-26/7/23); therefore, the billable ratio is 26/30 = 0.866666667
The second charge, which is the mid-month renewal, it is charged for 5 days in July (27/7/23-31/7/23); therefore, the billable ratio is 5/31 = 0.161290323.
The two billable ratios combined will not equate to 1, as the base number of days was different for each period.
