Azure Reserved Instance - Renewal Process

Azure Reserved Instances are provisioned with commitment term in place of: 1, 3 or 5 years (as of the time this article was written); The renewal setting is turned on by default when you make a purchase. You can manually turn off the renewal setting at the time of the purchase. After purchase, you can enable or disable the renewal setting anytime by selecting your reservation at Azure portal >Reservations, up to the expiration of the existing reservation.

 

Note: When auto-renew is enabled, you have to manually turn it off to stop automatic renewal.
