Azure Reserved Instance - Billing Process

Reserved Instance Billing 

Based on the type of billing term selected, billing will occur in two different methods:

1. Monthly – Every month, you will receive a second Microsoft CSP monthly invoice bill that is specific to your Azure Reserved Instances; the usage period for the invoice will be for a full month example, 1st of November 2021 to 30th of November 2021; however, the charges within the invoice will contain proration based on the provisioning dates. Billing is based on Microsoft’s Partner Centre Reconciliation files and contains proration to the dates the Reserved Instance was/is active.
2. Once Off – A once-off invoice for the term will be billed within 24-72 hours post-order completion; the invoice usage dates will be for the entire term of the order with no proration requirements. 

Please note that for Monthly billing orders, that Azure resources under the New Azure Plan, Azure Reservation and Server Subscriptions, the price is calculated using USD to local currency FX rates determined monthly at the beginning of the month. Microsoft will use Reuters to determine the FX rate used to determine the invoice currency. This can cause a monthly fluctuation in local currecny pricing.
