As of October 2023, Microsoft are actively verifying all account information within Partner Centre. Whilst you may be contacted directly requesting to verify your account information, Crayon are encouraging resellers to proactively review your account; below you will see what information is required for verification and how to verify. Failure to have verified details in Partner Centre may result in your Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program and or other Programs through Microsoft being terminated by Microsoft.
Who can verify an account?
Any of the following Partner Centre roles can complete/view account verifications:
- Global admin
- MPN Partner Admin
- Account admin
- Manager
- Owner
How can I confirm my verification status?
Select the cog in the top right-hand corner of the page, then select Account Settings
Under the Organization Profile heading, select Legal info.
You will then be presented with at least one tab for each relationship level under your Partner Centre account. Each relationship level will have a verification status against it, for example (from Microsoft's documentation) below:
What are the status' of verification?
-
Accepted. The information you have input is correct and has been verified. No further action is required.
-
Pending. The verification process may have begun but has not been completed. Please ensure you have submitted all details. Please note that Microsoft's cross-checking of your submitted details may take between 3-5 business days.
-
Rejected. The information you have input has been rejected as it couldn't be verified. Please see additional information from Microsoft on how to appeal here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/verification-responses#appealing-a-rejected-application. Please also feel free to reach out to your Crayon Account Manger for assistance.
What information needs to be verified?
Email ownership verifies that your primary contact (primary email) address is valid; this email address must be a monitored work account (that can send/receive email). Do not use a personal email address not associated with the company domain, and avoid using a tenant user credential not associated with email. (For example, jsmith@testcompany.onmicrosoft.com).
If the email address previously used is incorrect, you may not receive reminders or verification requests from Microsoft, please thoroughly check the email address listed.
Identity
Identity verification confirms the identity of at least one user under the account. However, all users listed against your account should have both their first and last name listed, plus supporting ID document/s. The identity is verified by trusted third-party ID verification vendors (IDVs). Here is a link to additional documentation on the Identity Process: Get verifiable credentials - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn
Employment
Employment verification confirms that your primary contact/user is an active employee of the Company it is enrolled against and that the Company own the domain of the email address used.
Business
Business verification confirms that the enrolled Company is an active and legal Business Entity operating from the stated address. Verification occurs by checking your company name and address match (i.e. has no spelling mistakes or abbreviations) against an external data source. These data sources can be Business/ Company Registries, State Registries etc. Documentation may be requested, which can be provided in the form of business registration certificates, tax certificates etc.
Due Diligence
Additional Due Diligence confirms the trustworthiness of the enrolling company in the Microsoft partner ecosystem. Trustworthiness may be achieved through additional background checks on your organisation.
