Notes/Limitations
This is the first release of Trials within the PRISM portal; therefore, we wanted to advise you of any limitations or notes that you should be aware of:
- Renewal - Trials will be systematically configured not to auto-renew (good practice will be to set auto-renew "off " at the time of provisioning). They can only have renewals managed and at the end date will auto-convert if user turns renewal on. PRISM then will resync the new paid sub back in eventually.
- Cancel - Cancel and Suspend functions will fail as it does not apply for trials. The trails will expire once the trial period is over.
- Turn off Auto Renew - On provisioning the Order, please make sure the Auto Renew option is turned off.
Ordering / Provisioning Process
Partners can now place orders for Microsoft CSP Trials within PRISM, below are the process steps for ordering.
- Within PRISM, navigate to the Programs tab, then select the Microsoft CSP tile
Note: Prerequisite for adding Trials; if you have an existing tenant created in PRISM that has the status of Normal, then there isn't a need to create a new tenant.
How to Provision a Trial Subscription
Step 1: Select ‘Manage’ under the Microsoft CSP program tile
Step 2: Select ‘Manage Existing Tenants’ under the Provision heading
Step 3: Select the tenant you have created by clicking on Manage .
Step 4: Select Add New Subscription from the options available
Step 5:Under the Add Subscriptions page, update the “How would you like to be billed for your subscriptions?” option to “Trials”
Step 6: Within this page, you will be presented with various SKUs that can be ordered, products can be searched using the ‘Filter Products’ search bar.
Step 7: Otherwise, you can scroll through the screen to locate the SKU that matches your requirements best.
Step 8: Once you have located the appropriate product adjust the quantity required to suit your needs using the "+" and/or "-" , review the total value of your order under the 'Order Summary' and select 'Submit order'
Note: Ignore the Commitment term visible on the screen, as this is made redundant and not selectable because the product chosen is "Trial", and the term becomes irrelevant.
Note: The Auto-renew option needs to be turned off manually.
Step 9: Once submitted, the system provisions in the background and provides you with the following message along with several other notifications as the subscription provisions in Microsoft’s Partner Centre.
Step 10: Whilst the order is provisioning in Microsoft’s Partner Centre, you will see the details under the Pending Order heading.
Step 11: And once provisioning is fully completed, the subscription will be visible under the Subscriptions heading.
